For those IG projects that connect school children and elders during the school day, the government mandated curriculum is a critically important determinant in the activities the groups might undertake. Community recreation centres for older adults, and care facilities both have requirements for those under their care as well. Planning in advance is a critical element. Educators and care home activity directors, recreation and community centre staff need to each review what their goals are for their respective students or clients, creatively selecting areas that lend themselves to cross-over activities.
